MEDIATECA DISANTA TERESA
A baroque church transformed into a multimedia library
In the mid-90s, within the "MxM" project (Milan for Multimediality), the idea was born to transform the baroque church of Saints Teresa and Giuseppe in via della Moscova, entrusted by the Municipality to the Biblioteca Nazionale Braidense, in first Italian media library, a library without books, a center of multimedia knowledge and a questioning place for the network, which at that time counted on limited private dissemination.

The project, coordinated by AIM, was implemented through a convention between the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities, the Lombardy region, the the municipality of Milan and the Banca Popolare di Milano.

RAI has joined the initiative by making available "RaiTeche"and the Piccolo Teatro of Milan has granted privileged access to its archives.

The architectural project, which is divided into a philological restoration of the sacred space, in the recovery of the compromised parts of the building and the insertion of a new glass volume, has been M2P Architetti Associati study.

The IT project was developed by the inter-university consortium CILEA and from the Milan Polytechnic.
